Begin with the PLCs in your white booklet (a list of everything you need to know for geography GCSE). Here, you can identify the topics you have ticked as ‘red’ as the topics you are weakest in, and therefore need to prioritise for revision. The page numbers of the CGP revision guide/revision booklet for these topics are also in the PLC. Create a calendar for when you will revise these topics starting now. Once revising a topic, create mind-maps and flash cards, then complete practice exam questions. Your teacher will be happy to look at the exam questions and provide you with some feedback!

Unit 1 - Questions requiring short and extended answers, based around applied situations. Learners will be required to use stimulus material to respond to questions. These will be based on:
1.1 Hospitality and catering provision
1.2 How hospitality and catering providers operate
1.3 Health and safety in hospitality and catering
1.4 Food safety in hospitality and catering

Unit 2 - An assignment brief will be provided by WJEC which will include a scenario and several tasks. Students have to research the task and select 2 recipes with accompaniments to suit the clients and venue specified in the brief. Justification of the choices must be written. Create a dovetailed time plan identifying health, safety and hygiene points. Identifying any contingencies for any potential issues during the practical and how to overcome them. The practical exam is 3 hours with a final evaluation of the practical skills and the sensory testing of the recipes made.
