Key Stage 4
GCSE Religious Studies A - Eduqas
In Year 10 RS, we undertake linear studies of the beliefs, teachings and practices found in Buddhism and Christianity. Then, we start to explore relationships, life and death, and human rights. We'll use what we've learned about the two religions to consider different approaches to these issues. We'll also consider non-religious world views when considering these issues as well.
Everyone will explore the question of what makes a "good" life in Core RE. We'll investigate our moral standpoints and consider what kind of moral code we each live by. We'll look at hypothetical situations and discuss how we would deal with them. We'll also explore real-world case studies.
Assessment:
- Autumn: 1 x knowledge and application check based on past exam questions
- Spring: 1 x knowledge and application check based on past exam questions
- Summer: 2 x mock exam papers
Homework:
Alternating between Seneca tasks and past exam questions each week
