We follow the PSHE association Curriculum and teach through a Spiral Curriculum that addresses both pupils’ current experiences and draws on their experiences and prepares them for the future. Our PD program is supported by our General Studies program, which has a range of guest speaker sessions covering the 3 concepts.
- Autumn 1: Living in the Wider World - Using Unifrog effectively as research and a recording program.
- Autumn 2: Health & Well-Being - Understanding Physical, Mental and Sexual Health and when to seek advice.
- Spring 1: Relationships - Understanding how to form healthy relationships and to navigate them both digitally and face to face.
- Spring 2: Relationships - Pregnancy routes, pregnancy options and parenthood.
- Summer 1: Living in the Wider World - Exploring Post 18 routes and preparing application material including writing a personal statement.
- Summer 2: Living in the Wider World - Preparing for the workplace in readiness for work experience.
No homework or formal assessment in Y12 set in PD.

- Autumn 2: Health & Well-Being and Relationships - Understanding Cultural practices and Extremism, Radicalisation and being exposed to harmful content.
- Spring 1: Living in the Wider World - Independent Living focusing on Mental Health well-being and how to maintain good Mental Health.
- Spring 2: Living in the Wider World - focusing on the practicalities of living independently, including financial independence, travel and living independently.
